ARTIST BIO

I am largely self taught and am influenced by the life around and within me. I receive my inspiraion from natural and quiet reflective spaces. l have created art for a long time and have exhibited throughout the Dandenong Ranges and the Highway Gallery in Mt Waverly, Victoria in solo and group exhibitions. Currently I am working towards the Immerse Exhibition in Knox September 2019.

In the process of my evolution with experimentation through out the years l am now at a place l call home. My art is painted on stretched canvas and l use layers to build depth with acrlylic, ink and paper. The layers represent the layering of thoughts in the unconscious mind. I initially select many colours on my palette and then allow my intuition to lead the selection process. Each canvas is like an inner topographical landscape. I am in dialogue with the canvas and I see images form as the art work unfolds and takes shape.

Viewers report they feel transported to another place when they view my work. Many see images and the interpretation of what the image maybe to the viewer is varied. Comments of feeling at peace and relaxed are frequent. I want the viewer to connect with their deeper thoughts and feelings, connect with their soul.

When l begin a canvas, l begin with a question, topic or word. The story unfolds during the process. For me, art is a journey of discovery into the unseen world. I am in love with the mystery of this and l hope you enjoy my work.
